Adani Group is planning to invest $2 billion to build Mumbai’s largest international convention centre (ICC) near the international airport that it operates. This move puts Adani in direct competition with Reliance Industries’ Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex.
The Adani ICC will be located in Vile Parle and will span 1.5 million square feet, accommodating 15,000-20,000 people. It will also include a five-star hotel with 275 rooms.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has already approved the design of the centre, and the detailed blueprint is expected to be approved within two months.
